I have not read this book yet, when I can get my hands on it I will certainly do so.
I have read and heard a few sermons on this book. It seems the concern is that this book is regarded as a Christian book, yet it conflicts with the Word of God in a few places.
I understand this is fiction, but we must remember even fiction can cause harm.
Below are some thoughts on the book. I hope you will read and listen and draw your own conclusion.

After reading and listening to all the above, I come away with that thought that they are all saying to view this book with caution and discernment. There a few places in the work that do not line up with the Bible and the teachings of Christ.
Also a warning to those who are very young in Christ very careful and perhaps not read it at all or at very least have a mentor who can guide you to the correct readings in Scripture.
Just a few parting thoughts….
For each tree is known by its own fruit. Indeed, people do not gather figs from thornbushes, or grapes from brambles.
1 John 1-3
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you will know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God.
